FOWC with Fandango — Officer and Word of the Day Challenge – Graduate

Fandango’s Rules For the One Word Challenge

FOWC

Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.). The word is “officer.”

I am also using The Word Of The Day Challenge – Graduate

**********

As the graduates lined up in the building on campus, a police officer was outside frantically trying to direct traffic and get all the cars parked. There were twice as many cars as available parking spots. The officer had no idea what to do with all the cars that were lined up and waiting to be parked. He took out his cell phone and called the school’s dean and asked if he had any idea where he should put all the cars that still needed to be parked. He left the dean pondering a solution as he went back to trying to fit more cars into the parking lot and along the road.

FOWC with Fandango — Fuel and Word of the Day Challenge – Neglected Plus The Three Things Challenge

Fandango’s Rules For the One Word Challenge

FOWC

Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.). Today’s word is FUEL.

I am also using The Word Of The Day Challenge – Neglected

I am also using the Three Things Challenge for today #M699.

Your three words today are:
YANK
YIELD
YESTERDAY

**********

Yesterday, during our barbeque, we encountered a fuel crisis. It turns out that Ronny, the one responsible for checking the propane tank, had neglected to do so when I asked him to last week. As a result, we found ourselves with a yard full of guests and a non-functional grill.I had to yank the tank out of the holder on the side of the grill, willing it to yield to my tugging. I finally managed to get it out and had Dave run to the local propane filling station to fill it up. Thankfully, they were open, and we had our barbeque without further problems.

Squid – Word of the Day Challenge

Rules for the Word of the Day Challenge:

Today’s word of the day is CHEAT.

********************

My stomach turned as they put the plate of squid in front of me. Squid belongs in the ocean and not on a plate as far as I am concerned.

Cheat – Word of the Day Challenge

Rules for the Word of the Day Challenge:

Today’s word of the day is CHEAT.

“You’re a cheat,” Elizabeth screamed at Jack.

“You don’t know what you are talking about,” Jack yelled back.

“Not only did I see you with Marion with your arm around her, Melissa and John, made sure to tell me as well.”

“I didn’t do anything, I’m telling you!”

“Don’t lie to me. I saw it with my own two eyes.”

“So what do you want to do about it,” Jack asked her, sighing.

“We’re through. I won’t put up with a man who cheats on me.”

“Fine, have it your way.” Jack walked away from her. He didn’t want to stay for the tears he was sure were coming in a matter of minutes.

Summer – Word of the Day Challenge

Rules for the Word of the Day Challenge:

Today’s word of the day is SUMMER.

********************

The heat is too much for me. I hate summer and my skin hates it as well as I simply fry in the sun. During my honeymoon I had a major sunburn that turned into sun poisoning. I lost layer after layer of skin and it oozed with wetness. It also hurt so bad that I couldn’t even come out in the sun. I spent most of my honeymoon in the room in the air conditioning. To this day I can’t spend more than 15 minutes in the sun and that is with protection of a high degree slathered on thickly.

Brother – Word of the Day Challenge

Rules for the Word of the Day Challenge:

Today’s word of the day is BROTHER.

********************

My brother decided to leave the family behind and without a word moved to North Carolina which is many states away from us. He rarely kept in touch until one day he seemed to realize that he missed his family and parents and tried to make amends. He hadn’t fully made those amends by the time both of our parents had passed on and wondered what they did to be treated that way. He did come their funerals, but aside from that there is not much communication between us. My sister and I forget at times we even have a brother.

Garbage – Word of the Day Challenge

Rules for the Word of the Day Challenge:

Today’s word of the day is GARBAGE.

********************

Mounds of garbage filled the room. Small pathways left to walk through to get in and outof the room. Mandy was a hoarder and almost every square inch was covered by what most people would call garbage even though to her it was her treasure. Family and friends stopped visiting as there was no place for them to sit or even stand for a few minutes. Mandy was lonely, but refused help from anyone who offered. She didn’t see the problem.
